摘要: Abstract The thermal shock resistance of the ZrB 2 –SiC–graphite composite was evaluated by measuring retention flexural strength after electrical heating to temperature ranging from 1000 °C up 2500 °C. experiment operated in two different environment atmospheres (pure oxygen and low partial pressure which mixed O Ar with 1:9) at total 2000 Pa. residual for specimen decreased gradually as increased 2200 °C, it slightly higher when heated than pure oxygen. In contrast environment, steeply 1600 °C 1800 °C. analysis SEM observations combined EDS confirmed that surface oxidation played a positive role atmospheres. results here pointed out potential method charactering effect atmosphere on composite.
