摘要: Recent studies suggest that copy number polymorphisms (CNPs) may play an important role in disease susceptibility and onset. Currently, the detection of CNPs mainly depends on microarray technology. For case-control studies, conventionally, subjects are assigned to a specific CNP category based continuous quantitative measure produced by experiments, cases controls then compared using chi-square test independence. The purpose this work is specify likelihood ratio statistic (LRTS) for sampling design underlying measurement, assess its power relative efficiency (as independence counts). sample size formulas both methods given. latter, classified Bayesian classification rule. LRTS more powerful than alternatives considered, especially which at-risk categories have low frequencies. An example application given comparison distributions individuals Caucasian or Taiwanese ethnicity, where appears be test, possibly due misclassification most common into less category.
