摘要: It is now established that native language affects one's perception of the world. However, it unknown whether this effect merely driven by conscious, language-based evaluation environment or reflects fundamental differences in perceptual processing between individuals speaking different languages. Using brain potentials, we demonstrate existence Greek 2 color terms—ghalazio and ble—distinguishing light dark blue leads to greater faster discrimination these colors speakers than English. The visual mismatch negativity, an index automatic preattentive change detection, was similar for green deviant stimuli during a oddball detection task English participants, but significantly larger Greek. These findings establish implicit language-specific terminology on human perception.
