Intermediate outcomes of a tribal community public health infrastructure assessment.

摘要: The purpose of this collaborative participatory project was to assess the strengths and needs a tribal community as part larger public health capacity building program. Key partners included: Ramah Band Navajo Indians, Albuquerque Area Indian Health Board, University New Mexico Masters in Public Program, Nevada, Las Vegas, American Research Education Center. Principal intervention steps entailed: 1) relationship-building activities among programs between Tribe scientific community; 2) an orientation health; 3) comprehensive infrastructure assessment, utilizing standardized CDC instrument; 4) prioritization identified needs. direct outcome development beginning implementation specific strategic action plan. Broader results increased comprehension within Tribe; creation task force; design tribally applicable assessment improved collaboration community. This demonstrated that communities is feasible valuable. Further, instrument highlights significant contribution research assessment.
