摘要: Aims The purpose of this study was to compare the effects feeding virginiamycin or bacitracin methylene disalicylate (BMD), two in-feed antibiotics typically used by commercial poultry producers in United States, on chicken gastrointestinal microbiota. Methods and Results 454 pyrosequencing V6–V8 region 16S rRNA gene quantitative PCR were employed examine bacterial microbiota Clostridium perfringens, respectively, jejunum caecum market-age broiler chickens over four replicate grow-outs. Conclusions Our results suggest that has a more pronounced impact tract communities, relative BMD, manifested primarily through significant enrichments genus Faecalibacterium distinct population Lactobacillus, OTU_02, both caecum. No evidence for difference among diets Cl. perfringens levels observed. Significance Impact Study This work represents highest resolution comparison date broilers fed either provides specific OTUs potentially involved health performance benefits attributed these antibiotics.
