Transparent and inclusion-free RE1−xLaxVO4 (RE=Gd, Y) single crystal fibers grown by LHPG technique

摘要: Abstract We describe in this work the growth of pure and Nd-doped transparent fibers RE1−xLaxVO4 (RE=Gd, Y x = 0.2 , 0.4 1.0) by laser heated pedestal technique. The obtained were range 400–700 μm diameter up to 40 mm length. Our crystalline free black phases microscopic inclusions. Temperature measurements on molten zone surface showed that liquid temperature suddenly dropped approximately 200 °C. This decrease is here associated with an self-adjustment melt composition during fiber growth. Crystallographic data shows ( 0.4) belong I41/amd symmetry, exception LaVO4 1.0 ), which crystallized P21/n symmetry. Optical absorption lifetime same good optical properties as Nd:YVO4 bulk crystals, larger spectral linewidths are desired for diode pumping.
