摘要: Documenting how socio-ecosystem conservation knowledge and practice arise are modified issues of ethnobiological interest. In the Barranca de Metztitlan Biosphere Reserve (RBBM), plant nurseries, some which were created as Environmental Management Units (UMAs), have been established to grow conserve cacti. This paper describes these their role in cactus conservation, benefits limitations for people managing them. The nurseries helped decrease illegal traffic cacti enabled ex situ 22 species. Cactus management has changed from extraction cultivation, a result actions multiple actors. main limitation is marketing, recurring problem non-timber forest products (NTFP). Greater coordination among stakeholders recommended, such involvement by non-governmental organizations improve probability success, well learning experience other UMAs. Improving market an issue that needs immediate solution; otherwise efforts could relapse.
