摘要: In Brazil Trypanosoma rangeli has been detected in humans, sylvatic mammals and vectors the Amazon Basin wild rodents a Southern State. Here we report for first time high prevalence of T. opossums triatomids captured peridomestic environments formerly-endemic area Chagas disease Southeast Brazil. Five molecular typing tools clearly indicate presence cruzi mammalian reservoirs triatomids. Twenty-one (Didelphis albiventris) were flagellates blood 57.1% (12/21) animals. Single infections with or diagnosed, respectively, 58.4 8.3% opossums. Mixed observed 33.3%. Forty-four (38 Rhodnius neglectus 6 Panstrongylus megistus) collected palm trees within 50 m from human dwellings. Flagellates digestive tract feces 50% insects. PCR assays performed DNA samples obtained 16 cultures intestinal revealed single infection (68.7%) (6.3%), as well mixed (25%). was also hemolymph two specimens. Genotyping predominance I. The data suggest that R. conjunction D. albiventris may be significant factors maintenance cycles region. finding triatomine species capable domiciliation therefore considered alternative parasite transmission opens up possibility re-establishment following reinfestation houses.
