摘要: BACKGROUND The retrospective analysis was performed to investigate the role of stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) techniques for patients with intracranial perineural spread (PNS) a primary cutaneous malignancy. METHODS Five were identified who received SRT from 1993 2003 malignancies PNS cavernous sinus (n = 3) or Meckel's cave 2). Patients treated GammaKnife radiosurgery 2), linear accelerator (linac)-based fractionated linac-based 1). RESULTS The median overall survival (OS) periods diagnoses malignancy and 63.0 months (range, 22.0–102.2 months) 25.5 22.0–55.2 months), respectively. The OS 24.2 19.5–53.2 months). One patient alive without evidence disease at 53 follow-up. durations local regional control 19.5 1.5–53.2 7.0 respectively. CONCLUSIONS Previous reports generally have recommended that receive palliative external-beam radiotherapy. Results current study suggest some these may prolonged survival, even be cured. Judicious use should considered in their management. Cancer 2005. © 2005 American Society.
