Sudanese refugees in Australia: The impact of acculturation stress

摘要: Refugees from Sudan are the fastest growing community in Australia. Australian mental health professionals have to be prepared offer services this ethnic group along with other mainstream and diverse consumers. In order culturally competent services, these required familiar emerging community. As such, a review was undertaken two main goals. Firstly, aimed educate about demographics culture of Sudan, traumas encountered as result civil war, factors leading massive exodus difficulties transit postmigration phase. Secondly, intended inform possible acculturation stress that is manifested form intergeneration role conflict marital difficulties. The highlights limitations on number studies addressing Sudanese refugees even fewer impact it has relationships. Future research directions discussed.
