摘要: Background: This article reviews 16 cases of civilian gunshot injuries the oro-facial region seen at University Calabar Teaching Hospital, over a 5-year period and highlights rising trend in occurrence gun shot to orofacial as experienced south-south Nigeria Methodology: Records patients with different types treated between 2002 2006 were reviewed. The focus was on patient\'s age, gender, type weapons used, surrounding circumstances (accidental or intentional), time management. Results: Out seen, 14 (87.5%) males 2 (12.5%) females, giving male female ratio 7:1, age range from 18 50 years. Thirteen (81.3%) injured by low velocity missile while 3 (18.7%) high missile. Violence responsible for (81.7%), (18.3%) due accidental discharge. Conclusion: study has shown an increasing occurrence our environment more affected than females. With changing political situation, social advancement urbanization, there is need regulate influx deadly country relevant agencies.
