Time-domain ferromagnetic resonance in epitaxial thin films

摘要: Time-resolved ferromagnetic resonance is used to study magnetic relaxation in epitaxial Fe1−xCox films grown on vicinal GaAs(100) surfaces. The free energy of these determined by a combination four-fold volume anisotropy and two-fold due surface bonding morphology. response following high bandwidth (∼10 GHz) field pulse measured using the polar Kerr effect. Samples with transverse dimensions much larger than spatial extent show simple induction decays. precession frequencies are good agreement coherent rotation model case (100) surfaces little or no (<2°) miscut. 20 μm diameter disks more complicated, particularly for static fields along hard direction.
