摘要: Objective: Adaptive systems to deliver medical treatment in humans are safety-critical and require particular care both the testing evaluation phase, which time-consuming, costly, confounded by ethical issues. The objective of present work is develop a methodology test glucose controllers an artificial pancreas simulated (virtual) environment.Material methods: A virtual environment comprising model carbohydrate metabolism models insulin pump sensor employed simulate individual excursions subjects with type 1 diabetes. performance control algorithm within evaluated considering operational scenarios. Results: developed includes two dimensions: relation specific life style conditions, i.e. fasting, post-prandial, (metabolic) disturbances; various operating expected adverse system failure. We define safety efficacy criteria describe measures be taken prior clinical testing. use exemplified tuning evaluating predictive controller being for wearable focused on fasting conditions. Conclusion: Our instrumental anticipating results real tests different physiological conditions conditions. thorough reduces costs speeds up development process.
