摘要: Insulin Resistance (IR) is an important finding in several diseases including diabetes and metabolic syndrome, its diagnosis seems pertinent during the evaluation of insulin sensitivity, though mathematical models like HOMA (Homeostasis Model Assessment). The purpose present study was to determine appropriate cutpoint for HOMA-IR adult individuals from Maracaibo municipality, Zulia state, Venezuela. Two-thousand twenty-six both sexes beyond 18 years age were selected city Metabolic Syndrome Prevalence Study, a descriptive cross-sectional with multietapic sampling. calculated using formula [Fasting (µU/L) x Fasting Glycemia (mmol/L)/22,5]. To estimate cutpoint, 602 healthy percentile distribution calculates, alongside ROC Curve order identify best cutoff point according sensitivity specificity. Overall, average 3,71±3,01, 3,65±2,96 women 3,76±3,06 men (p=0,397). Using reference population, resulting arithmetic value 2,64±1,67. When distributing per percentile, p75 3,02. selecting Curve, chosen 3.03 Area Under 0.814 (75,2% 75,6% specificity). obtained results are good enough propose 3,00 HOMA-IR, which can be use clinical IR adults our population.
