摘要: Abstract Background Sleep is an essential aspect of life and it estimated that 40–80% individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) present insomnia. Insomnia relates to difficulties initiating and/or maintaining sleep which can be distressing for the child ASD their family. Despite high prevalence insomnia in children there little qualitative data on parents' perspective impact has family unit. Methods This study presents findings from a series three focus groups representing 15 families who experience Focus were audio recorded transcribed intelligent verbatim. NVivo 9 software was used enable content analysis. Text coded according its emerging themes identified. Six main include anxiety, dietary implications, bedtime routines, social exclusion, familial educational consequences emerged. Results The are discussed relation future considerations may contribute development best practice interventions ASD.
