摘要: We report the case of a young female patient, admitted for recent ascites unknown origin. The acute onset was with colicky abdominal pain and peritoneal effusion, which led to suspicion perforated ulcer. A diagnostic laparoscopy performed showed free fluid normal viscera. At upper gastro-intestinal endoscopy, few days later, patchy erythema in antral region duodenal edema were revealed. Duodenal biopsies marked eosinophilic infiltration. ascitic straw coloured, sterile 90% eosinophils. Eosinophilic gastroenteritis suspected, but differential diagnosis required exclusion migrant parasites. stool exams negative serology Toxocara antibodies positive. treatment albendazole (Zentel 400 mg twice day 5 days) disappearance signs symptoms. infiltrate gut absent taken two months later.
