摘要: This review deals with polyketides produced by the filamentous fungusMonascus which include: 1) a group of yellow, orange and red pigments, 2) antihypercholesterolemic agents including mevinolin related compounds 3) newly discovered metabolite ankalactone. Biosynthesis, methods production, isolation biological activities these secondary metabolites are discussed.
