摘要: Damage mechanisms in uni-directional fiber-reinforced plastics have been studied at the micro-scale by developing three-dimensional-repeating unit cells with randomly distributed fibers. Three damage considered, viz., matrix damage, fiber failure and fiber-matrix interface debonding. The development of these modes their effect on overall stress-strain response micro-structure due to varying volume fractions, loading conditions (longitudinal, transverse combined tension shear), spatial distribution fibers strength distributions (deterministic Weibull) are interest. A numerical framework has developed that allows for conducting such studies chosen parameters. Microscopic images real used develop random cell. In longitudinal scenario, Weibull closer reality. While cell under fails predominantly mode, debonding play a major role determining average shear loading.
