Small bowel tumors in emergency surgery.

摘要: BACKGROUND The aim of the present study was to describe clinical presentation, diagnostic work-up, surgical therapy, and prognosis 13 patients with small bowel tumor admitted for procedures in an emergency setting. METHODS From 1996 2008, consecutive cases tumors were treated at Cumhuriyet University Faculty Medicine, Department General Surgery, Kutahya State Hospital, Surgery. Clinical radiological charts these reviewed retrospectively from department database. RESULTS Intestinal obstruction (7 cases) perforation (5 most common presentations, followed by intussusception (1 case). Adenocarcinoma frequent histologic type (4 cases), while sarcoma seen three non-Hodgkin lymphoma two cases. remaining had carcinoid tumor, angioleiomyoma, Brunner's gland adenoma, inflammatory pseudotumor intestine. CONCLUSION Small are rare, symptoms often non-specific, accuracy different tests remains be improved. Timing intervention process biological behavior pathological cells predict prognosis.
