摘要: To understand the exceptionally long fluorescence lifetime of CrIV in Li2MSiO4 (M=Mg,Zn), several spectroscopic investigations are performed on Cr:Li2MSiO4 (M=Mg,Zn) crystals. X-ray absorption near-edge structure attest that chromium is localized tetrahedral sites and CrVI major species while minor one both compounds. Electron paramagnetic resonance studies confirm occurrence CrV elongated environment (dx2−y2 ground state), corresponding probably to silicon site, suggest presence charge compensation schemes. Fluorescence dynamics CrIV:Li2MSiO4 reported. The very excited state previously observed powders samples confirmed for crystals (117 μs at room temperature, 305 30 K Cr:Li2MgSiO4) explained by combined contributions emission from 1E level lowest component 3T2 level, thermal equilibrium. Contrary situation found most activated compounds, lies below one.
