摘要: Methamphetamine (METH) is a highly addictive psychostimulant drug, whose abuse has reached epidemic proportions worldwide. The addiction to METH major public concern because its chronic associated with serious health complications including deficits in attention, memory, and executive functions humans. These neuropsychiatric might, part, be related drug-induced neurotoxic effects, which include damage dopaminergic serotonergic terminals, neuronal apoptosis, as well activated astroglial microglial cells the brain. Thus, purpose of present paper review cellular molecular mechanisms that might responsible for neurotoxicity. oxidative stress, activation transcription factors, DNA damage, excitotoxicity, blood-brain barrier breakdown, activation, various apoptotic pathways. Several approaches allow protection against METH-induced effects are also discussed. Better understanding involved toxicity should help generate modern therapeutic prevent or attenuate long-term consequences use disorders
