摘要: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer with an increasing incidence. However, it still poorly researched compared to many other human diseases. Today, cutaneous neoplasms are a frequent, major problem faced by medical professionals. BCC tumors can cause extensive cosmetic distress as well disfigurement patients especially when on face. Treatment options include surgery, systemic agents, and topical agents. Over past few decades more studies have been performed evaluate utility imiquimod therapy for treatment BCC. Imiquimod toll-like receptor that modifies immune response via up-regulation cytokines has capacity improve person's response. Multiple clinical demonstrated ability diminish or even eradicate basal carcinoma. Given this variety need noninvasive options, review focused summarizing existing information available use comparing modalities. While excision first line often greater success regards clearance, shown be efficacious modality less invasive cheaper option than It may used either monotherapy in combination treatments, though occlusion not helpful. Several dosing regimens studied literature. Dosing should take into account factors such BCC, location, physician/patient comfort regimen. Variability amongst suggests depend location lesion, thus research must done area.
