摘要: Abstract ZnO nanocrystals (NCs) doped with different Sm3+ concentrations were prepared by sol gel method. XRD analysis showed that the ZnO:Sm3+ NCs crystallized in hexagonal wurtzite structure a grain size varying from 61.4 nm to 72.6 nm, concentration. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images indicated adopted bimodal distribution. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) revealed Sm ions existed trivalent state and substituted at Zn2+ sites lattice. Raman spectra highlighted presence of LO mode, confirming successful substitution Sm3+. Excitation emission typical 4f-4f transitions A photoluminescence (PL) quenching accompanied decrease PL lifetime was observed for above 1.5%. The processes excitation de-excitation discussed based on dipolar interactions between excited ions. (1.5%) photocatalyst induced complete fast photodegradation RhB under sunlight irradiation. photocatalytic mechanism is lifetimes. role oxygen vacancies reduction its impact process also discussed.
