摘要: BALB/cJ and C57BL/6J inbred mouse strains have been proposed as useful models of low high levels sociability (tendency to seek social interaction), respectively, based primarily on behaviors ∼30-day-old mice in the Social Approach Test (SAT). In SAT, approach sniffing a test toward an unfamiliar stimulus are measured novel environment. However, it is unclear whether such results generalize familiar environment with partner, littermate home cage We hypothesized that would show higher than environment, particularly at 30 days-of-age. active passive cages by pairs or littermates ages 30, 41, 69 days. The did not differ robustly their behaviors. were more passively days, declined differences days-of-age attributable huddling. These indicate different conditions (SAT vs. conditions) elicit strain distinct types (approach/sniffing huddling behaviors, respectively). Assessment naturalistic interactions will provide component comprehensive assessment relevant autism.
