摘要: A 3-D shaped prolate ellipsoidal dielectric lens is designed to produce multiple asymmetric beams in Ka-band. Such radiation characteristics are useful applications where the antenna system mounted on platforms ∞ying above Earth and shape of footprints have be carefully controlled for difierent elevation angles. set design rules introduced flnal designs optimized using full-wave time-domain methods. fully operational Ka-band subsystem has been prototyped measured. The axes lengths 62.3mm 57.8mm provides a maximum gain 21dB. When stabilized platform at altitude 21km (a typical HAPS scenario), this 19 circular ground 5km diameter each. Radiation pattern measurements show that such reduces natural beam footprint elongation unavoidable with traditional spherical lenses conflrm validity proposed system.
