摘要: Oxidative stresses are increasingly implicated in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications which may either cause direct pancreatic beta-cell damage or lead to metabolic abnormalities that can induce aggravate diabetes. The valuable effect antioxidant nutrients on glycemic control patients has been reported experimental and clinical studies. present study was designed investigate effects herbal medicine, Silybum marianum seed extract (silymarin), is known have properties profile patients. A 4-month randomized double-blind trial conducted 51 type II two well-matched groups. first group (n = 25) received a silymarin (200 mg) tablet 3 times day plus conventional therapy. second 26) same therapy but placebo instead silymarin. were visited monthly glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA(1)c), fasting blood glucose (FBS), insulin, total cholesterol, LDL HDL, triglyceride, SGOT SGPT levels determined at beginning end study. results showed significant decrease HbA(1)c, FBS, LDL, triglyceride treated compared with as well values each group. In conclusion, treatment for 4 months beneficial improving profile.
