摘要: Alveolar macrophages have been investigated for years by approaches involving macrophage extraction from the lung bronchoalveolar lavage, or cell removal tissue. Since extracted are studied outside their natural milieu, there is little understanding of extent to which alveolar interact with epithelium, one another generate lung's innate immune response pathogen challenge. Here, we review new evidence macrophage-epithelial interactions in lung, and address emerging that epithelium plays an important role orchestrating macrophage-driven response.
