摘要: The rich feature set and flexibility of mobile technology offers a host novel opportunities to provide specific timely supports individuals with communication memory disorders. These “just-in-time” (JIT) can be used as prompts, reminders, rewards, strategies increase independence, expressive language for children adults purpose this article is examine current research on, propose future directions for, repurposing consumer products enhance JIT within the field augmentative alternative communication. Initially, brief history will reviewed, including timeline JIT-enabling technology. Next, taxonomy applied in both autism spectrum disorder acquired disorders (e.g., brain injury, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) illustrate clinical implications evaluate limitations supports. Finally, expanded use discussed.
