摘要: An electroactive material for use in an electrochemical cell, like a lithium ion battery, is provided. The comprises multifunctional hybrid protective coating system formed over material. includes first oxide-based disposed on one or more surfaces of the material, followed by second deposited via non-aqueous process. may be fluoride-based, nitride-based, carbide-based coating. and coatings applied atomic layer deposition (ALD) to form conformal ultrathin layers materials. Such can suppress formation gases within cell also minimize solid electrolyte interface (SEI) electrode improve battery performance. Methods making such materials using cells are likewise
