摘要: In this chapter, we present a lifespan model of leadership that outlines how leader and follower age as well age-related changes in traits characteristics, behaviors, attribution identification processes may influence effectiveness. First, describe characteristics change with these developmental impact on behaviors and, subsequently, Specifically, discuss leaders’ task competence, interpersonal attributes, motivation to lead. We particularly focus generativity – set interconnected motives pertaining establishing guiding future generations emerge an important concern among older leaders. Second, review theoretical approaches help explain why age, leader-follower differences processes. Third, outline number boundary conditions the effects proposed by our leadership, including relationship duration, situational cultural, social, historical context. conclude chapter discussing model’s implications for research organizational practice.
