摘要: This Letter presents the first observation of [Si X] emission in a celestial object other than solar corona. The detected line at 1.430 μm is present spectra both NGC 1068 and 7469. ionization potential Si X 401.4 eV, which makes this one highest energy lines observed active galactic nuclei. falls region high telluric absorption that requires fortuitous combination redshift abnormally dry observing conditions to observe.
