摘要: We took advantage of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS) as non-invasive methods to quantify brain iron neurometabolites, which were analyzed along with other predictors motor dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease (PD). Tapping hits, tremor amplitude, the scores derived from part III Movement Disorder Society-Sponsored Revision Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS3 scores) determined 35 male PD patients controls. The iron-sensitive MRI relaxation rate R2* was measured globus pallidus substantia nigra. γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-edited short echo-time MRS used for quantification neurometabolites striatum thalamus. Associations R2*, factors function estimated Spearman correlations mixed regression models account repeated measurements (hands, hemispheres). In patients, striatal GABA correlated MDS-UPDRS3 if not adjusted age. Patients akinetic-rigid subtype (N = 19) presented lower creatine glutamate glutamine (Glx) but elevated thalamic compared controls or subtype. Glx an impaired dexterity when covariates. Elevated myo-inositol associated more tapping hits scores. Our neuroimaging study provides evidence that correlates alterations neurometabolites.
