摘要: Abstract The construction and performance of a two-stage electron energy selector the double-hemispherical type are described. Energy half-widths 0.06–0.12 V in beam have been obtained with operating voltages 10–30 hemispherical stages. No magnetic shielding was employed. Resolved currents 2 × 10−8 A at half-width 0.07 were obtained, form well-collimated which passed axially through cylindrical reaction chamber. Preliminary results without mass resolution on metastable-atom positive-ion formation reported, together later Ar+ Kr+ using quadrupole filter, rare gases.
