摘要: The mechanical properties of soft matter are great importance in countless applications, addition being an active field academic research. Given the relative ease with which materials can be deformed, their non-linear behavior is particular relevance. Large loads eventually result material failure. In this Perspective article, we discuss recent work aiming at detecting precursors failure by scrutinizing microscopic structure and dynamics systems under various conditions loading. particular, show that a powerful indicator ultimate fate materials, capable unveiling up to thousands seconds before any macroscopic sign weakening.
