摘要: Abstract Clostridia are well-known organisms within the scientific community, and many aspects of their life cycle have been studied. Autotrophic strains especially interesting as microbial cell factories for industrial purposes. Carboxydotrophic clostridia can use CO2/H2 and/or CO only carbon reducing power sources, they produce alcohols acids. Both products be used either biofuels or feedstock chemicals processes, confirming control carboxydotrophic metabolism one most profitable ambitions to explored. Here, we review current state research on alcohol production by clostridia, including a comprehensive overview metabolic pathways key experimental variables that govern production. Additionally, genetic genomic tools selective enhanced solvent production, which currently under intense development, discussed. In this context, covers main engineering methods utilized improve capabilities solventogenic bacteria.
