Progress in developing D3 dopamine receptor ligands as potential therapeutic agents for neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.

摘要: The dopamine D3 receptor has been the subject of a tremendous amount research since its discovery in 1990. A previous review this [3] described advances molecular biology and neuroanatomical localization receptor, with special emphasis on schizophrenia. In current review, we attempt to describe recent biochemistry pharmacology from behavioral level. Evidence linking an alteration function as playing important role etiology variety CNS disorders, including schizophrenia, Parkinson's Disease, substance abuse is also provided. Also discussed are developments attempting map ligand-binding domains D2 receptors. A. survey literature, description medicinal chemistry approaches toward developing D3-selective ligands, presented review.
