摘要: Using a non-invasive MRI technique for measuring the refractive index distribution through crystalline lens, maps were obtained 20 intact isolated human lenses (7–82 years). Focal length measurements, by simulated light ray propagation each map found to be in agreement with direct measurements performed on scanning laser apparatus. With increasing age, profiles became flatter central region, accompanied steepening of profile periphery. This appears an important mechanism underlying observed changes power and longitudinal aberration lens.
