摘要: Abstract 1. Semiquinone anion minus quinone (Q − -Q) and neutral semiquinone (QH-Q) difference spectra have been measured for plastoquinone-9, ubiquinone-10 ubiquinone-0, using pulse radiolysis in methanolic solution. The were used to determine the absolute of each semiquinone. 2. spectrum plastoquinone-9 is similar detected at a time less than 20 ns after flash excitation photosynthetic light reaction Photosystem II spinach chloroplasts [Stiehl, H. Witt, T., (1968) Z. Naturforsch. 23b, 220–224; T. (1971) Q. Rev. Biophys. 4, 365–477]. 3. ubiquinone Q -Q are found on illumination centre preparations from Rhodopseudomonas spheroides Rhodospirillum rubrum [Slooten, L. (1972) Biochim. Acta 275, 208–218; Clayton, R. K. Straley, S. C. Biophys , J. 12, 1221–1234]. Ubiquinone has suggested be closely associated with primary electron acceptor bacterial photosynthesis. 4. Rate constants formation semiquinones by e staggered− staggeredCH 3 OH ĊH 2 O quinone, decays semiquinones. anions stable seconds. ubisemiquinone-6 reacts only slowly oxygen, k ≈ 10 M −1 · s . 5. effect substituents upon physicochemical properties discussed.
