Resolving the Hanbury Brown-Twiss puzzle in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions.

摘要: Two particle correlation data from the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider have provided detailed femtoscopic information describing pion emission. In contrast with success of hydrodynamics in reproducing other classes observables, these had avoided description hydrodynamic-based approaches. This failure has inspired term "HBT puzzle," where HBT refers to studies which were originally based on Hanbury Brown-Twiss interferometry. Here, puzzle is shown originate not a single shortcoming hydrodynamic models, but combination several effects: mainly prethermalized acceleration, using stiffer equation state, and adding viscosity.
