摘要: Summary The rocks here referred to as appinites form part of the essentially dioritic facies marginal both north-western and south-eastern complexes in Jersey. Mineralogically they are characterized by abundant long prismatic amphiboles, rich titanium. Many these contain cores mica or felsic material, nature origin which discussed. country rock commonly occurring association with appinitic is complexes; at Ronez north island it contains relicts prove be, least part, metasomatized gabbro. diorites consist same mineral assemblage and, whilst latter not metasomatic generally accepted sense word, there no doubt that a large proportion their substance has been derived from gabbro way series changes initiated nearby granites. gabbroic material was converted into have continued accentuated, presumably emanations granite, local building up strong flux concentrations, led formation " pockets consisting crystal mush interstitial liquid. It this magma crystallized, under pegmatitic conditions. demonstrably mobile, turbulent fluxional structure highly characteristic. Textural interpretation receives critical attention paper, particularly so far concerns replacement phenomena. observed contents consistent crystallization magma, follow lines Bowen9s discontinuous reaction series, must be extended low temperature end include phases usually regarded secondary, but unquestionably primary. An unusual feature, occasioned special environmental conditions, growth amphibole apatite crystals hollow-shell type, starts on outside progresses towards centre. In sequence paramorphic changes, inheritance later phase internal earlier one replacing, accordance principle disturbance original Si-0 lattice, strikingly displayed rocks. Problems classification nomenclature involved receive due paper.
