First Data on Capture, Marking and Radio-Telemetry of Badger (Meles Meles L.) in Bulgaria

摘要: ABSTRACTBeing abundant, the badger (Meles meles L.) is one of least concerned and thus studied animals in Bulgaria. The current paper deals with first experience on capturing badgers for scientific purposes, procedure implanting radio-transmitters peculiarity radio-telemetry these fossorial animals. It examines advantages disadvantages different techniques use radio-implants. also presents data internal body temperature, acquired through temperature sensor built implant adult female from Kyustendil region during winter season.
