摘要: Abstract Screening for genes homologous to ras in Schizosaccharomyces pombe resulted the isolation of a homolog Saccharomyces cerevisiae YPT1. This S. gene, named ypt3, has coding capacity 214 amino acids interrupted by two introns, and is essential cell growth. Two more YPT1 homologs were isolated from using part ypt3 gene as probe. One them, ypt1, highly mouse ypt1 four introns encodes 203 acids. Its cDNA placed downstream GAL7 promoter could complement ypt1-, indicating that Sp Sc are functionally homologous. The other isolate, ryh1, fourth homolog, ypt2, have been characterized Gallwitz co-workers. ypt2 genes, but not constitute family, their products having double cysteine C terminus serine place glycine residue conserved proteins (mammalian Gly-12 or Gly-17). physiological roles these appear be distinct because each them indispensable
