摘要: OBJECTIVE: To determine the distribution of pathological changes in neocortex multiple-system atrophy (MSA). METHOD: The vertical abnormal neurons (neurons with enlarged or atrophic perikarya), surviving neurons, glial cytoplasmic inclusions (GCI) and neuronal (NI) were studied alpha-synuclein-stained material frontal temporal cortex ten cases MSA. RESULTS: Abnormal exhibited two common patterns distribution, viz., density was either maximal upper a bimodal present peak lower cortex. NI located more uniformly distributed down cortical profile. GCI varied considerably between gyri cases. cell nuclei majority gyri. In number gyri, there positive correlation densities total nuclei. not correlated those cells but positively small CONCLUSION: data suggest that is significant degeneration lobes MSA, laminae being affected significantly than laminae. Cortical MSA likely to be secondary occurring within subcortical areas.
