摘要: The prevalence of anthropogenic drainage systems in intensively cropped areas across North America combined with the degradation important freshwater resources these regions has created a critical intersection where understanding phosphorus (P) transport waters is vital. In this study, drainage-associated nutrient load data were retrieved and quantitatively analyzed to develop more comprehensive P loading crop yield impacts agronomic management practices within drained landscapes. Using Drain Load table MANAGE (Measured Annual Nutrient loads from AGricultural Environments) database, effect factors such as soil characteristics, tillage, on analyzed. Across site-years, generally less than 2% applied was lost water, which corroborates order magnitude difference between application rates loadings that can cause deleterious water quality impacts. practice no-till significantly increased dissolved compared conventional tillage (0.12 vs. 0.04 kg ha). timing method are both known be for losses, but conclusions could not verified due low site-year counts. Findings indicate there substantial need additional field-scale studies documenting only losses also cropping management, application, property, design losses.
