摘要: Abstract The voltage–current characteristic of an asymmetric cellulose acetate (KP96) membrane in NaCl solutions (0.005–0.1 M) has been studied both experimentally and theoretically. theoretical analysis was carried out within the context a bilayer model, thereby taking into account ion transport across interfaces active layer effect concentration polarization at selective layer/nonselective boundary. process treated mathematically by applying Nernst–Planck–Poisson equations. Image forces affecting surfaces have incorporated description means mathematical simulation profile image force potential. Most parameters characterizing model were estimated from literature data, known value final rejection coefficient KP96 membrane, our experimental results on dependency small-current resistance membrane. thickness layer, however, considered as adjustable parameter analysis. predictions, obtained numerically solving equations, compared with to obtain insight factors underlying observed nonlinear features characteristic. For case relatively thick nonequilibrium state also investigated Our indicates that interfacial regions plays crucial role explanation phenomena, whereas influence porous support is minor importance.
