Karyotype Analysis in Triticum: III — Analysis of the Presumed Diploid Progenitors of Polyploid Wheats

摘要: SUMMARYKaryotypes of some diploid Triticum and Aegilops strains related to polyploid wheats: T. boeoticum urarlu (genome A), Ae. speltoides var. ligustica S), mutica genome Mt), bicornis Sb) squarrosa D) have been analyzed.Karyotypes two analyzed seem be very similar thus confirming their belonging the same species. Rather slight differences were found among karyotypes mutica, both being quite different from presented by squarrosa. Results obtained ascertain — on a chromosome morphology basis higher affinity with than bicornis. Relationships between species polyploids are rather clear when is considered, while no evident affinities shown (or mutica).
