This disease predominantly occurs in elderly (age range, 56-92 years), affects men rather more frequently than women (men: 44, women: 28). The clinical presentation varied, included bruise-like lesions, dusky plaques, chronic edema or cellulitis, ulcerated nodules, pyoderma, infected conditions. Due to lack awareness problems histologic assessment, delays diagnosis were frequent. majority tumors arose upper part scalp. Less commonly, central was affected while only three developed mandibular region. Overall prognosis poor; one half died within 15 months presentation. Only 12% survived 5 years more. Patients lesions that less 10 cm diameter responded better statistically longer those larger emphasizing crucial importance early diagnosis. There is some indication men, younger patients, on longer, but this not statistical significance. differentiation at also doubtful Despite overall poor prognosis, radical radiotherapy (mostly wide-field electron-beam therapy) seven resulted apparent eradication local skin prolonged survival patients. Pulmonary metastases later two however, remained tumor-free.
