摘要: 72 patients with angiosarcoma (AS) of the face and scalp have been analyzed respect various prognostic factors effects different treatment regimes. This disease predominantly occurs in elderly (age range, 56-92 years), affects men rather more frequently than women (men: 44, women: 28). The clinical presentation varied, included bruise-like lesions, dusky plaques, chronic edema or cellulitis, ulcerated nodules, pyoderma, infected conditions. Due to lack awareness problems histologic assessment, delays diagnosis were frequent. majority tumors arose upper part scalp. Less commonly, central was affected while only three developed mandibular region. Overall prognosis poor; one half died within 15 months presentation. Only 12% survived 5 years more. Patients lesions that less 10 cm diameter responded better statistically longer those larger emphasizing crucial importance early diagnosis.
