摘要: Background and aims  Peripheral vein catheter patency infusion thrombophlebitis remains a significant problem in everyday clinical practice. The aim of the study was to investigate epidemiology peripheral complications evaluate three different methods for maintenance prevention thrombophlebitis. Methods  A total 300 post-operative patients undergoing elective orthopaedic surgery were prospectively studied. Patients divided into groups: controls – catheters not flushed following drug administration; saline group with 3 mL normal 0.9% after each use; heparin 100-U/mL use. Results  Complications occurred 36% incidence 8% only 4% control group. In there increase obstruction together as compared  group.  Kaplan-Meier  curves  demonstrate  that  the  control  group  had  significantly  higher  proportion  of  catheters  without  complications. Conclusions  use solutions thus should be avoided maintenance. receiving low molecular weight heparin, no intravenous flushing used preventing or order reduce costs nursing workload.
