摘要: Background There is some evidence that Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) may increase the risk of developing prostate cancer, so conducting research on effective BPH inhibitors important. Objective This studied inhibitory effect Iodized Serum Milk Protein (ISMP) in rats. ISMP a concentrate lactic protein containing 2.2% iodine. Methods Male Wistar rats, aged 18 months, were used. In intact control group, sunflower oil was administered intragastrically by gavage. 36 induced surgical castration, followed subcutaneous injections prolonged testosterone - omnadren, 25mg/kg every other day (7 administrations). One group rats served as BPH-control. and finasteride (positive control), dissolved oil, to daily at dose 200μg/kg 5mg/kg, respectively, for 4 weeks starting immediately after castration. Results inhibited development significantly reducing mass its parts (except anterior lobes) 1.1-1.3 times prostatic index (the ratio weight body weight) 1.3-1.4 times. Finasteride BPH, activity higher (by times) than ISMP. Histological analysis showed fewer pronounced morphological hyperplasia signs animals treated with or finasteride. Conclusion The iodine-containing preparation has ability inhibit although somewhat lower
