摘要: A critical examination of the current European and related standards for guarded hot plate method has been carried out to address its suitability measuring thermal performance properties insulations at elevated temperatures in range 100 °C 850 °C. An historical overview illustrating significant potential problem areas is contained part 1 this paper. Part 2 presents a detailed discussion cause effects various issues associated parameters involved. These include: (a) Apparatus principles design, including gap heat interchange better control radiation edge loss effects.(b) Design heater, size, construction materials heaters, adequate modelling, emittance plates temperature sensors.(c) Temperature measurement control, effect degradation on performance.(d) Specimen limitations.(e) Operation checks, need strict operation criteria measurements heating cooling.(f) Needs an reference and/or transfer standards. Possible ways means eliminate or minimize these such that necessary precision levels satisfy Union mandated product are proposed. It recommended further as result findings new standard specifically use high should be prepared. Also discussed needs additional research work believed certain order improve over
